Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Transfer Center Nurse at our Kings Hwy location. As a key member of our patient flow team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient transfer of patients within our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical oversight and critical thinking in daily patient flow and bed placement decisions.
  • Support hospital administration, management, and nursing staff in achieving organizational goals and providing patient-centered care.
  • Facilitate professional relationships between leadership, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to provide patient room assignments based on patient diagnosis, acuity, and patient flow.
  • Evaluate and facilitate staffing needs in collaboration with nursing units, utilizing resources for capacity surge and patient flow escalation plans.
  • Complete accurate data collection, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Complete rounds and supervise day-to-day operations of nursing units.
  • Participate in semiannual telemedicine, business development, and hospital outreach activities.
  • Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, including respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, and adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in nursing, science, or related field.
  • 3 years of clinical experience.
  • Registered nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association, Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Supervisory experience or transfer/call center experience.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
