Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Preoperative Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in the Preoperative Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal care and preparation of patients undergoing surgery or procedures requiring anesthesia.
Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status, including taking health histories and performing physical examinations.
- Provide direct clinical care to patients, including prescribing medications, ordering laboratory tests, and interpreting results.
- Evaluate patients to determine their need for further healthcare and provide comprehensive teaching to patients and families.
- Document all care and education provided in the medical record.
- Refer patients to other disciplines as appropriate and consult with other healthcare professionals in areas of expertise.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Board Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, with maintenance of necessary CME requirements.
- Licensed or eligible for licensing as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Active or eligible for DEA license.
