Infrastructure Instrumentation Organization

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team in the US. This organization is responsible for developing and maintaining instrumentation agents and integrations for a wide range of products, including Kafka, MySQL, and more. In this role, you will work on Kubernetes integration, providing our customers with full observability into the health and performance of their K8s environment, backend services powering these dashboards, and queries, as well as user interfaces critical to design and implement dashboards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Go clients and projects, along with their support tools.
  • Contribute to Open Source projects and gain opportunities to grow your reputation and skills.
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss and implement service improvements, research new tools and services to tackle sophisticated problems effectively.
  • Ship incrementally and often, ensuring the team maintains a constant flow of feedback on its work.
  • Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach, where teams build and maintain their own software, including participating in second-layer support rotations.
Requirements
  • You have experience and passion for instrumentation, agents, large-scale distributed systems, Linux systems, software architectures, and Go programming language.
  • Willingness to work on UI components to display queried data gathered from multiple backend services.
  • You are an autonomous, cross-functional, and agile individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality software at a regular cadence.
  • You are self-motivated, learn fast, accountable, and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills.
  • You excel at collaborating with colleagues in important decisions and sharing code ownership.
Bonus Points
  • Experience developing instrumentation products, helm charts.
  • Experience developing on different Unix OSes and Windows.
  • Upstream contributions to relevant Open Source projects such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, DBs, http servers, etc.

The estimated base pay range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on the work location and job-related factors such as an applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan, and pay within this range may vary by work location. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
