Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Feed Mill Technician to join our team at Michael Foods, Inc. in Wakefield, Nebraska. As a Feed Mill Technician, you will be responsible for delivering, mixing, and managing feed for our farms. This is a critical role that requires a Class A CDL license and a mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities
  • Mix feed rations according to instructions from the mill manager.
  • Assign feed orders and deliveries to the proper bin location.
  • Responsible for all feed ingredients and ensuring they are assigned to the proper bin.
  • Observe the mill for proper operations and maintain the truck and tractor.
  • Perform minor and possible major repairs on equipment.
  • Responsible for keeping the mill and office area clean.
  • Ensure accurate inventory and records are kept.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow SOPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality is maintained.
  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect feed safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
  • Travel to and work at multiple locations.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors, or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • CDL Class A license.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Good mechanical ability.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders and climb to 80 feet height.
  • Ability to safely lift 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to work outside environment for long periods of time.
