Position Overview

The GLOW YMCA is in search of enthusiastic professionals who embody the YMCA mission and values, possess a solid understanding of YMCA programs, and prioritize the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in their daily activities.

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for certified and experienced Group Exercise Instructors. Candidates with a diverse background in various class types or fitness levels are encouraged to apply. Instructors at the YMCA enjoy complimentary membership and competitive compensation.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conducts engaging, enjoyable, safe, and informative group classes as assigned by the supervisor, aiming to fulfill the YMCA's mission and objectives. Focus on increasing participation, retention, and enrollment.
  2. Provides guidance to members to assist them in reaching their health and wellness goals. Maintains an up-to-date understanding of wellness trends to offer relevant information and support.
  3. Establishes genuine, effective relationships with members; fosters connections among participants and the YMCA community. Remains approachable, attentive, and responsive to class attendees.
  4. Maintains accurate records of class attendance.
  5. Adheres to YMCA policies and procedures; is prepared to respond to emergency situations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Complete the YMCA New Employee Orientation and Child Abuse Prevention training within the first 60 days of employment.
  2. Mandatory certifications: CPR with AED must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  3. A minimum of one year of experience in teaching group wellness classes is preferred.
