Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Preventative Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Irving Independent School District. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing daily maintenance tasks to keep equipment and systems running efficiently.
  • Provide support to HVAC mechanics and other trades staff as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance activities to prevent equipment failures.
  • Set up and dismantle ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Texas Class C driver's license and proof of insurability with District insurance carrier.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds. You will work in a variety of environments, including outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, and in extreme temperatures. You may also work on rooftops and in tight or enclosed spaces.
