Cellular Systems Simulations Engineer

At Apple, we're pushing the boundaries of innovation in wireless technology. As a Cellular Systems Simulations Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing cutting-edge simulation models and tools that will shape the future of our devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative cross-layer simulation model infrastructure and tool sets
  • Integrate PHY reference models in PHY only, reduced signaling and full stack pre-silicon simulation and verification environments
  • Contribute to simulator configuration management and perform SW releases
  • Work on simulation framework related topics, such as regression infrastructure development, test coverage analysis, design of automation scripts, and tool deployment and library integration
  • Design and implement 4G/5G PHY models for pre-silicon simulation and verification
  • Perform verification of the PHY models using 3rd Party test tools and test data provided by external network vendors
  • Collaborate across teams to define/document project requirements, including model architecture, interfaces, and feature sets

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge in Python and C/C++ including latest C++ standard evolution and professional experience in C/C++ SW development
  • Strong background on build systems, configuration and release management
  • Good understanding of simulator frameworks for link- and system-level simulations as well as FW development
  • Experience in code optimization techniques and development of efficient code, including memory and runtime profiling and understanding of C/C++ compiler internals
  • Solid knowledge of wireless communication systems with hands-on experience in 4G/5G PHY FW design, pre-silicon verification and critical metric testing
  • Working experience on workflow automation for verification and regression testing
  • Experience with Matlab including good understanding of baseband signal processing algorithms
  • Solid knowledge of current cellular communication standards: 5G (NR) and 4G (LTE)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (issue triage, debugging and fixing of defects,...)
