Job Summary

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is seeking a highly skilled Supervisory Civil Engineer to join our team in the Office of Energy Projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading technical staff and conducting engineering analyses to ensure the safe operation of licensed hydroelectric projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of civil engineers and engineering geologists in a manner that promotes effective communication, sets direction, and fosters teamwork and trust.
  • Conduct engineering analyses and oversee construction and operation inspections of licensed hydroelectric projects.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and external parties to promote the goals and mission of the safety and inspection program.
  • Review and make recommendations on dam safety engineering reports.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • A background investigation is required.
  • Must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level. This experience must include performing dam safety inspections and conducting engineering analyses of dams.
