The selected candidate will serve as a strategic sourcing expert within the Material Services Group. A fundamental understanding of 2D and 3D drawings is preferred, enabling the candidate to interpret prints and generate reports effectively. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in managing the sourcing of end-of-life components, conducting Requests for Proposals (RFPs), overseeing sourcing initiatives, and negotiating contractual agreements. This role will involve collaboration across various business units, providing a comprehensive understanding of all operational areas within Gulfstream. Experience in the aerospace sector is advantageous.

Education and Experience Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables the candidate to fulfill the essential functions of the role. A Master's Degree is preferred. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in purchasing or a related technical field is necessary.

Position Objective: Responsible for managing one or multiple subcontracts for strategic sourcing of components, including but not limited to Revenue Share supplier agreements and contracts with suppliers providing products for various Gulfstream aircraft models. These agreements often represent significant annual financial commitments for Gulfstream and impact future business opportunities. The role involves developing strategies and leading negotiation teams for contract awards and resolving ongoing high-value commercial disputes. Job Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  1. Direct all Purchasing and Supply Chain Management activities within the assigned area to maximize strategic sourcing advantages and provide optimal support for Gulfstream's internal stakeholders.
  2. Solicit proposals, conduct bid assessments, evaluate costs, negotiate pricing, schedules, and terms within management guidelines, and prepare and manage complex or high-value purchase orders and long-term agreements, such as Master Orders and Blanket Purchase Agreements; monitor and report on supplier performance.
  3. Develop an annual supplier performance master plan to ensure compliance with Gulfstream's requirements, including objectives for material management, quality, reliability, and product support, as well as scheduling and agendas for program reviews.
  4. Oversee the supplier performance master plan by identifying issues, determining their source, implementing corrective actions, and coordinating with Gulfstream Material management and supplier management as necessary.
  5. Act as the primary liaison with departments supported for strategic commodities.
  6. Lead and mentor junior personnel within the assigned area and the Materials Department to achieve objectives through superior experience and training.
  7. Interpret program requirements and recommend actions with suppliers to ensure all specifications are met.
  8. Assist cost analysts in preparing the Pre-Negotiation Plan (PNP).
  9. Formulate the Negotiation Plan utilizing the PNP and personal experience with suppliers.
  10. May lead teams in negotiations focusing on achieving cost reductions, maximizing savings, and ensuring schedule compliance in line with approved negotiation plans.
  11. Ensure all requirements are accurately reflected in purchasing documents.
  12. Coordinate the administration and response to all contractual documentation.
  13. Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, coordinate, and review the work of procurement personnel within the assigned commodity group or area.

  1. Strong knowledge of purchasing methods and techniques is essential.
  2. Experience in leading cross-functional teams with the ability to persuade and influence others.
  3. Experience in negotiating and managing high-value, multi-year, and/or complex procurement contracts.

A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position.
