Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at RightStone. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling small parts using basic hand tools and soldering irons. This role requires a strong background in component assembly, both Through-hole and Surface Mount Technology (SMT). The successful candidate will follow ISO9000 work instructions to assemble and refurbish units, ensuring high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and solder small parts using basic hand tools and soldering irons.
  • Cut and modify plastic parts as required.
  • Point-to-point wiring and soldering of Through-hole and Fine Pitch SMT components to Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs).
  • Read and follow ISO9000 work instructions to ensure accurate and efficient assembly.
  • Work on multiple product types, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Perform Quality Assurance (QA) and testing to confirm work meets specifications.
  • Escalate issues to Team Lead or Supervisor as necessary.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Assist with on-the-job training for new employees.
  • Enter completed work into computer tracking system.
  • Run basic tests to confirm work meets specifications.
  • Program firmware into units using a computer.
  • Cut returned units open for refurbishment using a rotary tool.
  • Glue units closed using 2-part methacrylate adhesive.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in soldering, with a strong background in SMT and TH components down to 0402 size.
  • 2 years of mechanical assembly experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in SMT soldering.
  • Experience with flashing firmware.
  • Experience in QA.
  • IPC610 certification.
  • Experience with 2-part epoxies or other adhesives or potting compounds.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
  • Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
