  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates from conceptual to detailed stages, including modifications.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to project submission.
  • Assist in the creation and upkeep of a cost estimating database.
  • Summarize scope cost data for estimates, focusing on major items.
  • Guarantee that all project-related data is systematically organized and easily accessible.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff in cost estimation practices.
  • Execute additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in engineering or construction.
  • Proficient in generating cost estimates for all project phases, including design and construction at various stages.
  • Expertise in quantity takeoff, pricing, and developing labor/equipment requirements, along with estimating productivity rates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Preferred experience in the transit sector.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with various discipline-specific software applications such as HeavyBid (HCSS), On-Screen Takeoff (OST), RSMeans, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Competence in PC operating systems and several basic software applications.
