Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Custodian plays a vital role at Hope Network, focusing on the essential task of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the facility. This position involves general housekeeping and janitorial duties that are crucial for ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all staff members. The Custodian is responsible for performing cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the operational hours, with performance assessed through ongoing observation and inspections of completed work.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3 PM - 11 PM
Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

This list is not exhaustive and may include additional duties as assigned by management:

  1. Consistent and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement for this role.
  2. Execute routine cleaning tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  3. Carry out basic maintenance duties, including floor cleaning and waxing, minor repairs, and snow removal when necessary.
  4. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and promptly notify the Program Supervisor when replenishment is needed.
  5. Complete assigned responsibilities as outlined in the Fire and Tornado Safety Program, if applicable.
  6. Ensure building security as specified by the supervisor.
  7. Report any safety, housekeeping, or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  8. Perform cleaning activities such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, sealing, buffing, vacuuming, and washing surfaces.
  9. Participate in emergency drills and safety training activities as required.
  10. Additional departmental tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  2. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
  3. Flexibility to work independently and meet deadlines.
  4. Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to contribute.
  5. Proficiency in English to understand operating instructions for cleaning equipment and safety protocols.

Experience Requirements:

  1. Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment.
  2. Ability to engage and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  3. Positive interaction with colleagues and supervisors.
  4. Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
  5. Prior experience in general cleaning of facilities is advantageous.
