About the Role:

This Systems Engineer position is responsible for the development and support of weapon systems from proposal development through product phase-out. The role involves collaboration with the engineering organization to perform requirements analysis, design synthesis, and generation of supporting design documentation.

  • Translate end-user/customer needs into end-to-end systems requirements
  • Perform functional analysis, software subsystem decomposition, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies
  • Lead design synthesis and generation of supporting design documentation, including technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans and procedures

Key Responsibilities:

As a Systems Engineer at L3Harris, you will be responsible for:

  • Working collaboratively across the engineering organization to perform requirements analysis, requirements decomposition, and assignment of requirements to appropriate functional areas of responsibility
  • Managing traceability of requirements back to customer specifications and system level derived requirements
  • Creating and managing system requirements in DOORS (or other equivalent tool) together with MBSE models
  • Conducting tests and documenting results
  • Developing and delivering presentations to communicate design activity plans and status to internal and external customers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, RF Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering, and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with creating and managing systems requirements in DOORS
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
  • Preferred Additional Skills: experience with DoD weapon programs, strong communication skills, and formal presentation skills
