Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing and administering medications to patients and residents in post-acute care settings
  • Overseeing residents' self-administration of medications, providing reminders as necessary
  • Confirming the correct individual, medication, dosage, route, and timing against the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
  • Documenting interventions, vital signs, and other relevant data related to medication administration
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of residents
  • Reporting any issues or concerns to the supervising nurse
  • Assisting residents with daily living activities (ADLs)
Qualifications and Skills
  • Current certification as a Licensed Medication Assistant (LMA)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
  • Current certification as a state nursing assistant (CNA/LNA/STNA)
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a nursing assistant role or a related position
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) training for healthcare providers
  • Strong understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology
