Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Laborer to join our team at Genesis Attachments. As a Laborer, you will play a critical role in supporting our shop activities and duties, while learning about the business and potentially contributing to other areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload materials, parts, or products via manual or forklift onto or from pallets, skids, or trucks.
  • Material Delivery: Deliver parts or stock to designated work areas.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean lint, dust, oil, and grease from machines and overhead pipes using brushes, air hoses, or a steam cleaner.
  • Floor Maintenance: Sweep and clean floors using a water hose or floor scrubber.
  • General Cleanliness: Clean around work areas in the shop and outside.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean screens and filters, and clean shears.
  • Waste Management: Separate metal shavings, chips, scrap materials, and trash, and place them in appropriate bins for pickup/resale.
  • Production Support: Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, or shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Material Conveyance: Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Inventory Management: Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences.
  • Supply Chain Support: Transport raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between departments manually or using an overhead crane and lift trucks.
  • Work Order Fulfillment: Fill work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers.
  • Record Keeping: Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Quality Control: Count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Organization: Arrange boxes, material, and other industrial equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Assembly Support: Arrange stock parts in specified sequences for assembly by other workers.
  • Daily Staging: Stage shears daily.
  • Part Retrieval: Pick up parts and cylinders.
  • Welding Support: Grind and chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
Requirements
  1. Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  2. Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training.
  3. Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, procedures, etc.
  4. License: Valid driver's license.

Please note that while performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
