Job Summary

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our Supportive Housing Programs, you will provide on-site wellness services to adults and seniors, promoting their behavioral health and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with residents regularly to discuss progress and document service plan goals
  • Conduct assessments, case logs, and develop care plans for tenants
  • Establish and maintain contacts with families, social service agencies, and health facilities
  • Provide counseling, behavioral interventions, and crisis management services
  • Develop and implement wellness activities and programs
  • Ensure the development of appropriate wellness, educational, and social programming
  • Coordinate care for critical/high need resident cases
  • Participate in intake/admission process and discharge planning

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • Two years' experience working in housing, mental health, senior, and/or elderly populations
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Computer literate, including experience with Microsoft Office software packages
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bi-lingual Chinese/Korean/Spanish/English preferred
