Lead Kitchen Staff

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Cook to join our team at The Salvation Army USA. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving all food in the center, maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, and adhering to recommended food preparation practices.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve all food in the center, ensuring high-quality dishes that meet the needs of our clients.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain the kitchen in a sanitary and efficient condition, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Menu Planning: Collaborate with the director to plan and prepare weekly menus that meet the dietary needs of our clients.
- Food Purchasing: Make local food purchases as necessary to ensure a consistent supply of fresh ingredients.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless food preparation and service.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent culinary skills: Proven ability to prepare high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail: Ability to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Effective communication skills: Ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and the director to plan and prepare menus.
- Basic math skills: Ability to manage food inventory and make accurate calculations for food purchases.
