As an Occupational Therapist I, you will be part of a dynamic team that works together to provide high-quality patient care. You will have the opportunity to work with patients who require rehabilitation due to developmental deficiencies, aging, medical concerns, or psychological and social disabilities.

The successful candidate will evaluate, consult, and treat patients using evidence-based practices. You will document activities and instruct patients, family members, and students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist II or Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostic Testing: Administer diagnostic tests and evaluations for occupational therapy treatment of functional deficits and related impairments.
  • Education and Supervision: Teach and supervise graduate occupational therapy students and clinical fellows/residents. Develop innovative programs to enhance patient care and serve as a resource consultant to other clinicians.
  • Evaluation of Care: Analyze results to establish patient goals and modify treatment programs. Identify expected patient outcomes and communicate relevant information for continuity of care.
  • Implementation: Select and apply techniques to provide quality and efficient rehabilitative services. Provide habilitation and rehabilitation for persons with impairments, prioritizing care according to patient needs.
  • Outreach and Community Involvement: Serve as a resource to government departments and statewide health professionals. Present at local events, participate in community health screenings, and develop new clinical programs.
  • Participation: Contribute to quality of clinical services through attendance and participation in departmental meetings and in-services.
  • Quality Improvement: Maintain valid records of patient procedures and progress, participating in quality improvement initiatives with healthcare professionals.
