Job Description:

The Medical Assistant I, Certified will work in an outpatient clinic setting, providing routine clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers and other team members. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Room patients, collect vital signs, and review medical history.
  2. Assist with patient registration, check in/check out, and scheduling of tests and treatments.
  3. Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and administer medications as directed by a provider.
  4. Review patient records and ensure exam/procedure rooms are properly stocked and maintained.
  5. Provide patient education and instructions as directed by a provider.

Requirements:

  • A Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) is required.
  • Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required.
  • Prior medical assistant or medical assistant externship experience is preferred.

Estimated Salary Range: $17.50 - $24.63 per hour, based on location and experience.
