Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Itinerant Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in the Louisville, KY area. As a subcontractor, you will provide comprehensive speech, language, communication, and swallowing services to individuals facing challenges due to conditions like stroke, head trauma, and neurological diseases.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Evaluations: Provide physician-ordered evaluations for clients with speech, language, communication, or swallowing disorders
  • Develop Treatment Plans: Create and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving clients' functional abilities
  • Deliver Therapy: Administer a variety of speech therapy procedures, including auditory and reading comprehension tasks, speech intelligibility, and swallowing exercises
  • Train Caregivers: Offer written and verbal instructions to caregivers, families, and staff on assisting clients in reaching their therapeutic goals
  • Document Progress: Maintain detailed daily notes documenting client progress, service dates, and session times
  • Contribute to Team Effort: Work collaboratively to maintain a positive work environment and ensure high-quality care
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and completion of requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • 2+ years of experience with demonstrated proficiency in clinical practices and treatment protocols preferred, but clinically strong and autonomous therapists with less experience and a positive attitude are encouraged to apply, including CFY candidates
  • State of Kentucky license in Speech Pathology and Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including occasional lifting and using body mechanics during therapy sessions
  • Must be certified in CPR and First Aid from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross prior to working with patients
  • Must maintain professional liability insurance
  • Must be willing to provide your own equipment and have reliable transportation to and from client locations
