Position Summary

We are partnering with Partners in Communication to find dedicated and compassionate Itinerant Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to join their team in the Louisville, KY area. In this role, you will provide comprehensive speech, language, communication, and swallowing services to individuals facing challenges due to conditions like stroke, head trauma, and neurological diseases. Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct Evaluations: Provide physician-ordered evaluations for clients with speech, language, communication, or swallowing disorders
  • Develop Treatment Plans: Create and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving clients' functional abilities
  • Deliver Therapy: Administer a variety of speech therapy procedures, including auditory and reading comprehension tasks, speech intelligibility, and swallowing exercises
  • Train Caregivers: Offer written and verbal instructions to caregivers, families, and staff on assisting clients in reaching their therapeutic goals
  • Document Progress: Maintain detailed daily notes documenting client progress, service dates, and session times
  • Contribute to Team Effort: Work collaboratively to maintain a positive work environment and ensure high-quality care
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and completion of requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • 2+ years of experience with demonstrated proficiency in clinical practices and treatment protocols preferred, but clinically strong and autonomous therapists with less experience and a positive attitude are encouraged to apply, including CFY candidates
  • State of Kentucky license in Speech Pathology and Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including occasional lifting and using body mechanics during therapy sessions
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross prior to working with patients
  • Must maintain professional liability insurance
  • Must be willing to provide your own equipment and have reliable transportation to and from client locations
