Job Title: Part-Time Security Officer

Dauphin County Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate security devices and equipment in accordance with established policy and procedure.
  • Screen building visitors for weapons prior to entry and secure weapons as necessary.
  • Direct building visitors to appropriate buildings, departments, and individuals.
  • Monitor buildings to ensure the safety and security of buildings, visitors, and staff.
  • Patrol County parks to ensure the safety and security of parks, visitors, and staff.
  • Makes rounds routinely both inside and outside of facilities.
  • Summons and assists emergency services when necessary.
  • Documents and investigates events observed or reported and makes appropriate notifications within and outside County government.
  • Maintains required logs, reports, and forms as necessary; completes required reports.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school or an accredited equivalency program.
  • At least one (1) year of security experience is preferred but not necessary.
  • Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age by the date of hire.
  • Favorable criminal background check.
  • Applicant must pass a preemployment drug screening and physical.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license is required.
Benefits:
  • Hourly Wage increases up to $5.00 per hour with Merit Raises.

  • Direct Deposit.
  • Shift differential pay includes:
    • Weekend Premium Pay (SAT & SUN): Additional $1.00 per hour.
    • 15:00-23:00 (3PM-11PM): Additional $0.75 per hour.
    • 23:00-07:00 (11PM-7AM): Additional $1.00 per hour.
    • SAT & SUN (11PM-7AM): Additional $2 per hour.
