At Yield Engineering Systems, we're seeking a skilled Process Development Engineer to join our team. As a Process Development Engineer, you will be responsible for applying principles of engineering, thermal or fluid sciences, mathematics, or statistics to optimize processes as per customer requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing test protocols, performing tests to fully characterize new equipment or processes utilizing DOE methodology or other statistically sound methods, then writing completion reports.
  • Collaborating internally to plan, collect data, analyze results, and report on customer demos for existing process applications.
  • Compiling and analyzing test data to establish next steps in process development and determine appropriate limits and variables for process specifications.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and providing solutions and alternate approaches to complex problems using independent creativity and judgment.
  • Communicating findings and proposals to upper management.
  • Partnering cross-functionally and with customers to understand roadmaps, process flow, inflection points, requirements, and business challenges.
  • Training, developing, and/or providing work direction to operators, technicians, and junior level engineers.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or related field related technical field.
  • 3+ years of process development experience in semiconductor industry.
  • In-depth understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience with statistical tools (JMP, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new skills, new technologies, and develop solutions based on project needs.
  • Familiarity with working in a laboratory and on semiconductor equipment with experience in surface preparation, analytical techniques, and material characterization.
  • Ability to function well in a diverse, team-focused, fast-paced environment with changing requirements.
  • Up to 20% local/international travelling may be required.
  • Preferred but not required: Proficient in MATLAB, Python, or other similar scientific computing language.

Compensation:

  • The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000 per year; higher compensation may be available depending on advanced skills and/or specific experience.
