Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

HJD Capital Electric, Inc. is seeking skilled Groundsmen to support our Utilities division in various projects related to streetlight installation and maintenance. The ideal candidates will assist in the installation and upkeep of electrical systems and components in accordance with established plans and specifications.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute installation and repair of electrical wiring and fixtures in streetlight systems
  • Support Journeyman/Lineman in a variety of tasks
  • Install different types of conduits connecting electrical devices and equipment
  • Operate Bucket Truck as required
  • Ensure compliance of piping with electrical regulations
  • Interpret and analyze blueprints
  • Install primary and secondary distribution systems and switchgear
  • Conduct tests on electrical systems to verify proper installation and functionality
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify necessary repairs
  • Replace circuit breakers, conduit, and wiring as necessary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with streetlight systems
  • At least 1 year of experience in pulling wire, bending conduit, and installing fixtures
  • Ability to size wire and interpret technical drawings
  • Proficient in assembling panels and transformers (terminating)
  • Preferred: Valid CDL and capability to operate a bucket truck
