Key Responsibilities- Machine Operation and Setup
- Perform machine setup and operation of various CNC machines, including HMC, VMC, HTL, VTL, Swiss Screw, Multi-Axis lathes, Transfer machines, and Robots.
- Load and unload parts, change inserts, make wear offsets, maintain coolant level, maintain lubrication oil, grease fixtures, wash down inside of machine, and clean work area.
- Leadership and Team Management
- Lead a team of machinists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the successful completion of production goals.
- Assist the on-duty shift supervisor with meeting daily production requirements, help assess and assign the day's work and labor, and participate in special projects, planning, and training.
- Quality and Safety
- Monitor work activities, coach, instruct, and assist personnel with meeting daily requirements, such as machine setup, machine operations, troubleshooting, and production documentation.
- Follow safety policies and procedures, wear PPE, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
- Mathematical and Measuring Skills
- Perform first article inspection, use CMM, and properly use measuring instruments such as caliper, micrometer, machinist scale, functional gages, height stand, indicator, surface roughness gage, and blueprints.
- Read blueprint dimensioning, interpret blueprint information, comprehend information, apply tolerances as defined, and knowledge and use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Computer Use and Communication
- Use a standard PC and MS software, proficient with essential elements of current ERP System, and proficient with current databases.
- Communicate effectively with others at all levels with proper etiquette, respond to management's directions, take responsibility for own actions, and demonstrate a consistent performance in all aspects of their work.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum 1-year related leadership experience, training, or equivalent
- Minimum 5-year related machining experience, training, or equivalent
- Must attend leadership classes recommended by MV
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety policies and rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals
- Reasoning Ability: Thoroughly carry out instructions given in any form, ability to deal effectively with problems and situations, determining causes of operating errors and deciding the best course of action, cost profit consciousness and determining profitable outcome
- Soft Skills: Responds to management's directions, takes responsibility for own actions, demonstrates a consistent performance in all aspects of their work, keeps break periods to allotted times, mentor and assist in training of employees, recognizes valid proposed improvements and follows proper procedures for possible implementation, recognizes and resolves problems as they arise, adapts to change, develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintains them, detects defective equipment, materials, and/or faulty operations to maintain a safe environment, identifies root causes and corrective action for problems, ensures documentation is complete and correct, ensures proper workmanship, accepts criticism and deals calmly and effectively with stressful situations, communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills
