Job Title: CNC Set Up II

At Milwaukee Valve Co., LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled CNC Set Up II to join our team in Prairie Du Sac, WI. This is a full-time position with a starting hourly wage of $26.78.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform machine set up and operation of various CNC machines, including HMC, VMC, HTL, VTL, Swiss Screw, Multi-Axis lathes, Transfer machines, Robots, etc.
  • Determine work holding, tool selection, and edit programs as needed.
  • Assist with mentoring others in machining and possess good organizational, math, communication, and computer skills.
  • Perform tasks correctly, such as loading and unloading of parts, changes inserts/tooling, adjusts wear offsets, measures parts, runs jobs within quality and efficiency expectations, maintains coolant level, lubrication oil, greases fixtures, washes down inside of machine, cleans work area, and production documentation.
  • Set up machines with no assistance and involvement with selection of tooling.
  • Capability to extensively edit programs and generate simple programs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum 3-year related machining experience, training, or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety policies and rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and communicate effectively with others at all levels with proper etiquette.
  • Thoroughly carry out instructions given in any form, ability to deal effectively with problems and situations, assist with determining causes of operating errors and deciding the best course of action, learn cost profit analysis and how to determine a profitable outcome.
  • Math ability, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, trigonometry, calculations of speed (RPM/SFM), feed (IPM/IPR), chip load, angles, ratios, arc and circles, taper.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, identify surface finishes are met, measure parts correctly and ensure specifications are met, visually inspect parts to specified standards, ability to interpret data from the CMM and manual measurements and make adjustments to machining processes to achieve dimensional and visual compliance.
  • Meets productivity standards, completes work in allotted time, strives to increase productivity, identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Proper use of measuring instruments, such as caliper, micrometer, machinist scale, functional gages, height stand, indicator, surface roughness gage, use of measuring instruments effectively to perform complex measurements and part layout, perform first part inspection and in-process inspections.
  • Ability to read blueprint dimensioning, interpret blueprint information, comprehension of information, application of tolerances as defined, knowledge and use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to use a standard PC and MS software, become proficient with essential elements of current ERP System, become proficient with current databases.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures, wears PPE, reports potentially unsafe conditions and follows proper procedures for correction, uses equipment and materials properly, assists in the organization and maintaining the machine shop work environment.
  • Follows security policies and procedures.

  • Constant use hands and fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, handle, and manipulate parts and tools
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts

  • Frequent lifting up to 40 lb. unassisted
  • Occasional lifting up to 70lbs unassisted
