Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Training Specialist to join our team at MWI Veterinary Supply Company. This role is responsible for administering a variety of training and development programs for associates within assigned Distribution Center(s). The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assesses training and development needs and helps individuals and teams develop appropriate skills and knowledge.
  • Plans and executes learning and development content related to all phases of associate development.
  • Provides training documentation, performance tracking, and training delivery.
  • Delivers training programs for associates, including compliance, safety, specific job function training, and related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Oversees training in all key areas of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, quality control, pick, pack, inventory management systems.
  • Determines training needs and communicates them to their manager and assists with the development of training aids.
  • Gathers content and designs low-complexity materials, meets timeline deliverables, and communicates risks to project manager/lead.
  • Recommends changes to course material and training manuals to meet specific training needs.
  • Participates in the testing and piloting of new training programs and provides valuable feedback to ensure successful future training deployment initiatives.
  • Assesses associates' skills, talents, performance, and productivity, prepares evaluations, and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Onboards new hires and manages training curriculum, identifies skill gaps, and identifies future training needs.
  • Administers post-training performance evaluations and makes recommendations.
  • Consistently implements measurement strategies.
Requirements
  • Requires completion of a four-year bachelor's degree and five years' experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Training experience is highly preferred. Warehouse experience desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software technology and proficiency with remote meeting technologies.
  • Ability to review and interpret data, adjust as appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to participate and contribute to major organizational change initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to train others and establish learning objectives in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Effective teambuilding, organizational, and leadership skills.
