Job Opportunity: Assistant City Manager

The City of Colonial Heights is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant City Manager. This position plays a critical role in supporting the City Manager in the administration of the City, including various assignments related to administrative operations, city-wide initiatives, and economic development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of administrative policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned functions and/or departments.
  • Work collaboratively with the City Manager and Senior Management to analyze current and future initiatives for municipal growth and development.
  • Manage and coordinate economic development activities, operations, and staff.
  • Develop and administer a comprehensive economic development strategy for the City.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration or a related field (Master's Degree desired).
  • 6 or more years of directly related professional and supervisory experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern public administration principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and administer goals, objectives, and procedures for providing effective and efficient services for the City.
