Position: Industrial Refrigeration Technician - Day Shift

Salary: Based on Experience
Essential Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in industrial settings, specifically in refrigeration, ammonia systems, electrical work, and HVAC.
• An Associate Degree in Refrigeration, Ammonia, HVAC, or Electrical disciplines is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as RETA, CARO, and FCF are advantageous.
Desirable Skills:
• Completion of Refrigeration/Electrical Trade School Certification or equivalent qualifications.
• RETA Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) Certification or a 2-year Associate Degree in HVAC, Ammonia Refrigeration & CFC Certification is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of refrigeration machine rooms and maintenance areas on a daily basis.
- Interpret and comprehend technical plans, specifications, schematics, and operational manuals related to refrigeration systems.
- Collaborate with management to develop standard operating procedures, daily schedules, and maintenance protocols for refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Assist in overseeing external mechanical and refrigeration contractors for service and repair tasks.
- Support building and material handling equipment maintenance teams.
- Engage in general building repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and various maintenance tasks.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in low-temperature environments (35 degrees or below) for the duration of the shift.
• Capable of lifting 40-60 pounds to shoulder height repeatedly.
• Must be able to stand and walk on concrete surfaces throughout the shift.
Additional Skills:
• Proficient in basic mathematics and computer usage.
• Ability to read and understand product specification sheets and demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
• Must be able to work independently and exhibit leadership qualities.
Certifications:
• Willingness to obtain OSHA Level A Hazmat Certification and Incident Command Training within the first 90 days of employment.
• Commitment to achieving RETA (CIRO) Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator Certification within one year of hire to qualify for Refrigeration Technician level III classification.
