Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performing cloud-based architecture to enable and sustain data-driven decisions.
  • Provide technological guidance on data lake and enterprise data warehouse design, development, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Understand, design, and implement data security around cloud infrastructures.
  • Provide support and guidance to data services and other application development teams on various AWS database products.
  • Work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives on cloud platform.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience in a technical position.
  • 7+ years of experience in Information Technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in database engineering primarily in AWS Redshift, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, DMS, Glue.
  • Proven experience in building data pipelines and database applications.
  • Strong coding and scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
  • Development experience with any major ETL tool, preferably Informatica.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Clear understanding of cloud databases security involving AWS IAM users and access, IAM roles and policies, federated users and permissions.
  • Good understanding of AWS encryption methodologies and AWS KMS services.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of implementing Amazon EMR or big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Hive will be a plus.
  • Prior domain experience of life insurance, annuity, or financial services is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AWS machine learning offerings will be a plus.
  • Experience with any data visualization tools will be a plus.
  • AWS certifications strongly preferred.
