Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship Position

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Irvine is now accepting applications for a 1-year fellowship in Genitourinary (GU) pathology, starting in July. The fellowship provides training in all aspects of GU pathology with opportunities for clinical research.
Program OverviewThe GU service includes a full range of neoplastic and non-neoplastic conditions with special emphasis on prostate, kidney, and bladder. The fellow participates in the sign-out of GU specimens, frozen sections, and consultation cases, with graduated responsibility to the level of junior faculty. The position also includes exposure to a multi-specialized tertiary service handling about 25,000 adult specimens per year.
Research OpportunitiesFunded research opportunities are available within the department, and the fellow will be expected to present their research at national meetings. The fellowship does not participate in the Unified Approach and recruitment timeline for surgical pathology fellowship program.
RequirementsCandidates are required to have successfully graduated from an ACGME accredited AP or AP/CP residency program. The base salary range for this position is $81,652 - $103,898. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
