Healthcare Professional for Pulmonary Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team in the Pulmonary Unit 11E at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This part-time position offers an estimated salary of $52,000 - $72,000 per year, depending on experience.
Job OverviewThe Patient Care Technician will work closely with the Professional Registered Nurse to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. Key responsibilities include performing normal newborn hearing screening, obtaining EKGs, and preparing patients for meals and procedures.
Direct Patient Care Activities
- Assist with pre-and post-operative care, position patients as ordered, and apply special equipment for safety.
- Transport patients, equipment, and supplies during urgent and emergent situations, and respond to emergency situations, secure assistance, and initiate basic life support.
- Report observations and document appropriately, and follow established policies, procedures, and standards of care in all areas of practice.
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a CNA Certification or be currently enrolled in SON who has successfully completed basic clinical rotations, CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers), and a high school diploma. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, with demonstrated ability to relate to patients, family, nursing, and medical staff.
