PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The role involves the development of studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, and budgets related to the planning, design, licensing, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas, and telecommunication facilities/systems. The position provides consultation and recommendations based on thorough analysis of company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles, or facilities. Financial data from project budgets and actual costs are reviewed, and the engineer operates independently while seeking guidance when necessary. Extended hours may be required during energy delivery emergencies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Execute engineering tasks associated with critical projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features. (50%)
  • Undertake assignments in areas where engineering precedents are incomplete or require extensive experience. (30%)
  • Assess, develop, and implement projects with moderate financial and operational impact. (10%)
  • May serve as an expert in a specific area, including delivering training and on-the-job education. (10%)
JOB SCOPE
  • Influences project decisions with moderate impact on the company, which may include leading teams in the commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Applies technical expertise to promote a safe work environment and enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and application of problem-solving methodologies and engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with engineering designs, principles, and practices.
  • Proficiency with complex field test equipment.
  • 4-7 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulations, standards, and advanced engineering principles necessary for complex assignments.
  • Minimum of two relevant career experiences.
  • Engineer in Training or progress towards advanced technical degree, M.B.A., or Project Management Certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with transmission planning software such as PSSE, TARA, PROMOD, Aspen Oneliner, or similar analytical tools.
  • Graduate degree or advanced coursework in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management Certification.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all management levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
