Server Job Description

Mirbeau Inn and Spa is seeking a skilled Server to join our team at the Wine Bar and Bistro in Skaneateles. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a seamless dining experience, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Manager on duty in a clean uniform and name tag.
  • Review scheduled shifts and communicate with the Manager on duty regarding Wine Bar and Bistro setup.
  • Welcome guests upon arrival and departure from their table.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of clean china and glassware on designated sections.
  • Ensure food orders are taken correctly from each guest by confirming and checking as it goes out.
  • Set up stations and tables with linen, tableware, and condiments prior to and after the shift.
  • Serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and appropriate manner.
  • Review daily specials and attend pre-meal meetings with the Manager and Chef.
  • Answer guests' questions regarding food preparation and choice of beverage and desserts.
  • Remove used tableware and linen from tables.
  • Clean spilled food and beverage from the Restaurant floor and take dirty dishes to the dishwashing area.
  • Maintain the service area in a neat and clean manner.
  • Assist guests in obtaining other goods and services that may be needed.
  • Keep the Manager informed of all guests' reactions and comments.
  • Report to work in a clean uniform with a nametag at scheduled time.
  • Familiarize the Resort Suite, ensuring each guest order is posted correctly on the bill, with the guest's name attached.
  • Complete any other duties assigned by the Manager in a timely manner.
  • Act as a team player and assist other Servers during busy periods.
Qualifications, Skills, and Educational Requirements:

This position requires a pleasant personality and neat appearance. Knowledge of menu items and experience serving in the industry is preferred. The ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift 40 lbs. is desired.
