Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

The Psychiatric Registered Nurse at Mount Carmel Behavioral Health is a clinical professional who works closely with various departments to ensure exceptional patient care. This role serves as a valuable source of medical care and compassionate support, providing a challenging, dynamic, and rewarding experience for RNs to enhance their skillset, develop new capabilities, and become recognized leaders in delivering exceptional patient care and directly impacting/improving the lives of individuals and families in crisis.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide and coordinate patient care by assessing physical and behavioral needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, maintaining patient medical records, and educating patients/families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
- Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
- Administer medications in a timely manner and according to physician orders.
- Coordinate with Intake and Clinical Services departments to assist and facilitate admission and discharge process.
- Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful to personal space, giving patient direct attention, and maintaining rational detachment.
- Communicate in therapeutic and professional manner with patients, visitors, co-workers, and all involved in patient treatment.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
- Current/valid State of Ohio RN license required.
- One (1) or more years' experience within psychiatric field, specifically adult and geriatric patient population preferred.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification training required.
- Annual accrual of vacation, sick, & extended sick time.
