Scope of Transportation Engineering Projects

  • Roadway planning and geometric design
  • Design of sidewalks, bicycle paths, trails, and transit systems
  • Stormwater management design
  • Design of signalized intersections and roundabouts
  • Traffic signal and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) design
  • Street lighting design
  • Traffic analysis and reporting
  • Community outreach initiatives

Your Responsibilities

  • Engage in meaningful and challenging projects that contribute to community development.
  • Generate and refine design concepts, assisting engineers and project managers in developing planning and design solutions, utilizing AutoCAD or Microstation to realize these concepts.
  • Oversee drawing management and perform calculations, applying relevant design criteria and technical guidelines to prepare and modify drawings based on sketches, mark-ups, or general engineering information.
  • Conduct site visits and observations to gather data and insights for your designs.
  • Support project managers and senior engineers in adhering to project timelines, managing budgets, and meeting quality standards.
  • Ensure that project documentation is thorough, up-to-date, and properly organized.

Qualifications

  • A strong commitment to service, effective communication, creativity, and high-quality output.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
  • A balanced approach combining logic and creativity.
  • EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of employment.
  • Typically, 2 to 4 years of relevant drafting and design experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
