Position Overview:

  • Facilitates patient preparation for consultations by executing the Advanced Standard room procedure, which includes documenting the primary concern, measuring vital signs, assessing medical history and allergies, performing a comprehensive medication review, and utilizing the Encounter Guide to address any outstanding care requirements such as fall risk assessments, mental health screenings, cancer screenings, and diabetic eye examinations; additionally, re-evaluating elevated blood pressure readings and ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record system for annual preventive visits as necessary.
  • Provides assistance with various in-office diagnostic tests, which may include blood draws, mental health evaluations, electrocardiograms (EKGs), walking oxygen assessments, and point-of-care testing.
  • Administers vaccinations and other injections within the scope of practice.
  • Coordinates follow-up appointments in accordance with office protocols.
  • Works collaboratively with healthcare providers and the clinical team to oversee and synchronize the implementation of the care plan.

Qualifications for Medical Assistant:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certification: Must secure Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
Preferred Experience: At least 6 months of experience in a clinical healthcare setting, ideally within a primary care environment.

Qualifications for Certified Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certification: Must possess an active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
