Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist is accountable for the administration of physician-ordered diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative respiratory services across the continuum of care. Performs all respiratory therapy modalities professionally. Performs assessments, interprets, and utilizes information appropriately. Provides education to the patient and their family and documents teaching appropriately. Communicates with the patient care team effectively. Organizes and prioritizes workload appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative respiratory services as ordered by physicians.
  • Perform assessments, interpret, and utilize information to provide effective patient care.
  • Provide education to patients and their families on respiratory health and disease management.
  • Communicate effectively with the patient care team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Organize and prioritize workload to meet patient needs and achieve departmental goals.

Requirements:

  • Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Approved Respiratory Program completion.
  • BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
  • Clearances as required by law.
