Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. As a Forensic Fire Protection Engineer, you will investigate residential, commercial, and industrial fires that may involve fire protection or life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field investigations and perform forensic engineering & failure/accident analysis on incidents involving various fire protection systems
  • Conduct post-accident evaluations involving fire-spread and means of egress
  • Consult with clients regarding applicable building and life safety codes
  • Conduct unbiased investigations for various clients
  • Responsible for retention and development of client relationships
  • Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in written reports
  • Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings
  • Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships, and promote self to client groups
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering required
  • Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering preferred
  • P. E. registration or ability to obtain
  • IAAI-CFI or CFEI certifications or ability to obtain
  • Fire Investigation experience or desire to learn a must
  • Knowledge of fire protection systems, building construction, and relevant codes
  • Experience with fire modeling a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of fire protection engineering industry experience
  • Forensic experience/exposure a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
