RPG Developer Job Description

At United Software Group Inc, we are seeking an experienced RPG Developer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain software built on the IBM i platform using RPG and SQL languages and procedures.
  • Assess business requirements and translate them into effective designs.
  • Produce high-quality, standard-compliant code.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure changes are coordinated and knowledge is shared.
  • Manage deadlines through collaboration with technical and business teams.
  • Evaluate and escalate platform events that require further focus or resolution.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in writing ILE RPG and RPG Sequel programs and services.
  • At least 2 years of experience in conducting development in Financial applications.
  • Experience in writing applications that use the DB2 400 relational database.
  • Passion for technology and problem-solving.
  • Good communication skills and ability to deliver in accordance with deadlines.
  • Desirable experience in using the Synon code generator tool and Java.

This is a contract position with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions using RPG and SQL languages and procedures.
