Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the operating room, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare the operating room, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed, and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including preparing patients for surgery and assisting with recovery.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including surgical counts and instrument inventory.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices, and participate in ongoing education and training.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in surgical technology or a related field preferred.
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- At least two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
