About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Legal Officer to join our team at Nationwide Energy Partners. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's legal strategy and providing expert guidance on complex real estate development matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Legal Department: Oversee the structure, allocation of responsibilities, and activities of the legal team, ensuring effective management and growth.
  • Provide Strategic Legal Advice: Offer expert guidance on real estate development, construction, operations, and financing, as well as experience in helping to formulate creative capital structures to achieve the company's growth objectives.
  • Negotiate and Draft Complex Contracts: Manage litigation, negotiate, and draft complex contracts, and provide strategic legal advice to ensure alignment with the company's overall goals.
  • Manage Risks and Liabilities: Conduct regular reviews and audits to assess legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management: Work closely with the internal finance department, lenders, financial institutions, and other parties to secure financing and negotiate favorable terms for multifamily development projects.
  • Lead Joint Ventures: Structure, negotiate, collaborate, and execute joint ventures with equity capital providers, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives and risk management strategies.
  • Manage the Family Business: Serve as the primary legal advisor to the family business on personal and business matters, including estate planning, asset protection, and succession planning.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.): From an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of Fifteen Years of Experience: As a Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, or in a similar senior legal role within a privately held company or law firm specializing in real estate development.
  • Experience Representing High-Net Worth Individuals or Families: Desired.
