Job Summary:

Hughes Network Systems is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Germantown, MD. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing wide-scale networks for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide system engineering and long-term technical support for customers.
  • Manage large service provider networks, install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment, and devices.
  • Document network problems and resolution for future reference.
  • Participate in daily operational activities, provide day-to-day analysis, proactive maintenance, and perform independent complex network system troubleshooting.
  • Identify and optimize capacity and performance issues for highest service availability and integrity.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 6 months' experience in networking technologies, or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 5 years' experience in networking technologies.
  • Experience must include 6 months in each of the following: Wireshark, Postman API, Forticlient, VMware, ESXi, Vsphere, Fortinet firewalls, Cisco switches, routers, load balancers, Linux and Windows virtual machines, and Ubuntu.
