About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at Dechra. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance of our production equipment assets to achieve targeted reliability and equipment Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Maintenance Strategies: Manage and effectively utilize all resources and relevant information to meet targets through a focused Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Program to deliver targeted equipment reliability and OEE.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Drive continued development and optimization of the TPM program, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead Maintenance Problem Solving: Lead and/or guide Maintenance Problem Solving and troubleshooting to identify root cause; develop timely solutions; participate in execution of work as needed; and communicate outcomes to all interested parties.
  • Manage Maintenance Resources: Manage inventory of spare parts required for equipment maintenance ensuring spend is controlled within budget and critical spares are readily available. Work with the Engineering Planner/Buyer to optimize the spare parts sourcing network and supplier relations contracts to deliver cost efficiencies.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure full compliance with site Standard Operating Procedures and applicable regulatory requirements, and that tasks are performed in accordance with cGMP, EHS, loss prevention Company processes.
  • Develop and Maintain Maintenance Documentation: Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation, including maintenance schedules, procedures, and records.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and Quality to ensure effective maintenance and equipment reliability.
  • Manage Maintenance Budget: Take accountability for budgetary control, optimizing spend in assigned area of responsibility.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Engineering or Closely Related Discipline: Associate degree in engineering or closely related discipline required. Higher-level degree in engineering or closely related discipline and/or Professional certification in maintenance management desirable.
  • Minimum 7 Years of Progressive Maintenance Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive maintenance experience, including a prior management role required. Experience working in a cGMP environment, experience with application of LEAN/six-sigma tools and principles and knowledge and application of ISO14001, OHSAS18001, ISO 9001 standards desirable.
  • Strong Technical and Leadership Skills: Detailed knowledge of pharmaceutical technology, equipment, and practical application of engineering principles. Strong people management and development skills. Leading teams and managing multiple objectives and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compliance Mindset: Compliance mindset with a working knowledge of applicable Quality and EHS regulations.
  • Technical Writing Ability: Proven technical writing ability to document cGMP changes, investigations, etc.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literate with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and CMMS systems.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
