Job Overview

The Outbound Retail Order Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate and seamless loading and processing of all outbound retail orders. This includes verifying contents, weights, quality and correct placement to ensure that all orders leave the warehouse in a manner that meets customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify accuracy of all outbound retail orders by matching against purchase order and shipping documents
  • Ensure weights are recorded before the trailer is loaded, orders are shipped out on the correct loads, and quantities for each item on an order are accurate
  • Load orders in the correct manner and placement on the trailer, and ensure pallet quality meets customer expectations/standards
  • Place temperature recorders on loads and activate in the trailers
  • Maintain a spreadsheet of any non-compliance activities related to quality or order issues
  • Act promptly and decisively to resolve loading issues on the dock and avoid customer complaints
  • Maintain a safe work environment and model behavior that supports the Health & Safety Policy
  • Keep corporate management informed on key operational conditions and trends
  • Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for outgoing items prior to signing off
  • Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor
  • Follow current standards and procedures
  • Ensure shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete
  • Problem solve for any missing documents, shipments
  • Perform monthly inventory counts, assist with annual inventory counts
  • Maintain an organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or above
  • Experience in the chilled and frozen warehouse industry preferred
  • 2 or more years working experience in Outbound Shipping Quality Assurance role
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing, English required, Spanish an asset
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of lading and international shipments
  • Follow all Forklift pedestrian safety policies, processes, practices while on the dock
  • Ability to weigh and measure items
  • Working knowledge of safe lifting methods
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
  • Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as needed, or change start and finish times per business requirements.
  • Ability to work in 34 degrees Fahrenheit and stand 90% of the time
  • Exposure to noise from forklift and trucks while on the dock
  • Lifting or moving up to 50 pounds may be required
  • Work is performed in a combination of environments such as shipping dock and office
  • This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes and oils
