We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse to join our team at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. As a PACU RN, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth transition from the operating room to the recovery phase.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and evaluate patients upon return from surgery or diagnostic procedures, documenting findings and implementing a treatment plan.
- Provide safe and effective nursing care, creating a comfortable and supportive environment for patients and their families.
- Transcribe and implement physician orders, documenting all patient-related information.
- Administer medications and IV fluids accurately and safely, adhering to nursing guidelines.
- Update and revise the plan of care as needed, ensuring a seamless transition to the nursing unit, including transport.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, utilizing critical thinking skills to identify potential problems and intervene to prevent adverse effects.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice, or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with a strong preference for experience in a PACU or similar setting.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year of employment start date.
