Patient Care Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Technician II to join our team at Halifax Health. As a Patient Care Technician II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and support to patients and families in a variety of settings, including nursing units and emergency departments.
- Perform phlebotomy, patient transportation, and other clinical duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to establish interventions and goals.
- Work effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, assist with placement of oxygen saturation, blood pressure monitoring, and cardiac monitoring.
- Perform point-of-care glucose testing and assist with resuscitation/CPR and emergency airway procedures.
- Transport patients within the hospital in a safe and timely manner.
- Draw blood samples and prepare them for testing according to hospital policy.
- Document procedures performed within scope of skills checklist.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Current valid Florida EMT license or certification as CMA or RMA for Medical Assisting.
- Current certification in BLS.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain composure in stressful situations.
