Position Overview

Salary Range: $35 - $41.18

Role Summary:

The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring optimal patient care. Responsibilities include managing patient triage, handling communications, administering medications, and providing assistance during clinical visits. The nurse also supervises LPNs, MAs, and other support staff, and may assume desk nurse duties when necessary. This position requires performing comprehensive nursing assessments and maintaining a professional atmosphere within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a patient-centered approach by:
    • Delivering care and advocating for patients and their families, adhering to established nursing standards.
    • Facilitating efficient patient flow and assisting healthcare providers and staff.
    • Executing nursing tasks within the scope of practice and legal regulations, demonstrating proficiency in these areas.
    • Providing nursing care across various clinical settings.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid nursing license in Massachusetts.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ongoing maintenance of licensure and certifications.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
Essential Knowledge:
  • Understanding of:
    • Nursing principles, including disease processes and clinical assessments.
    • Nurse Practice Act and Code of Ethics.
    • Nursing Process and Managed Care.
    • OSHA and infection control guidelines.
    • Emergency protocols and moderate computer skills.
Professional Conduct:
  • Exhibit accountability and reliability through excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and discretion in all communications.
  • Demonstrate courtesy and respect towards patients and colleagues.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands.
  • Participate in team meetings and uphold the chain of command.
Clinical Duties:
  • Prepare patients for various types of visits, including physicals and gynecological exams.
  • Conduct vital sign assessments and document findings accurately.
  • Perform a range of clinical procedures, including injections, EKGs, and wound care.
  • Provide patient education and manage prescription refills.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to policy development.
Work Environment:

This role is situated within a bustling community health center, where long hours may be required. The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift patients and equipment, and requires good visual and auditory acuity.
