Job Summary

Surge Staffing LLC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, as well as maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including Seybold cutting machines, pinch rollers, glue dispensing systems, punch presses, and other miscellaneous equipment/tools.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities, including structure painting, repairing drywall and plaster, replacing broken windows, repairing doors, door locks, closets, and window blinds.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean HVAC coils and replace filters, and perform minor plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks in sinks or toilets.
  • Lighting and Electrical: Replace light bulbs in interior or exterior lighting, and respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Record all R&M data on equipment log sheets for supervisor and Operations Manager decision-making process.
  • Supply Management: Obtain estimates for supplies, repairs, and parts as needed.
  • Safety and Housekeeping: Perform maintenance duties in accordance with Safety, Housekeeping (5S) requirements and OEM specifications/manuals.
  • Renovation and Remodeling: Assist with the renovation/remodeling of buildings.
  • Landscaping: Perform landscaping tasks, including lawn care and snow removal.
  • Tool and Die Maintenance: Build and repair steel rule dies.
  • Quality Control: Assist in the planning and inspection of Safety and Housekeeping (5S) process.
  • Machine Shop Support: Work with machine shops to re-build equipment.
  • Purchasing Support: Work with the purchasing department to order machine parts, cleaning supplies, and soda.
  • Soda Machine Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining soda machine, if required.
  • Computer Operations: May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems, repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security, and/or install network cabling.
  • Janitorial Support: Manage and direct janitor.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in performing physical inventories and/or cycle counts, as required.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years in a building and/or maintenance position required.
  • Language: Ability to establish identity and US work authorized.
  • Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating/maintenance/procedural instructions manuals.
  • Organizational Skills: Must be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with the ability to multi-task and follow instructions.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of personal computers and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Internet and the ability to navigate to find information preferred.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, etc. to practical situations.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to approximately 75 pounds.
