Job Title: Field Technician

TransCore, a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Field Technician to join our team in Cheswick, Pennsylvania.

Job Summary:

The Field Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting toll system equipment, including in-lane load cells, loop detectors, lane controllers/LPUs, and other electronic devices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair toll system equipment, including in-lane load cells, loop detectors, lane controllers/LPUs, and other electronic devices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment, including power supplies, video surveillance equipment, network components, and miscellaneous electronics.
  • Operate company vehicles and use company-provided cell phones for work-related purposes.
Requirements:
  • Valid PA driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to diagnose system problems using a volt meter and lift/carry 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to maneuver in tight spaces and follow mandated safety procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and work with minimum supervision.
  • Fundamental electrical and mechanical knowledge.
  • 24/7 rotating swing shift.
Desired Skills:
  • Basic electrical, electronics, and mechanical experience.
Special Qualifications:
  • Any applicable knowledge of toll systems.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates in electronics/electronic engineering, equivalent military training/experience, or relevant work experience.
Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, and compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
